About chimney liner repair & relining in Dallas
The flue liner carries combustion products through the chimney. Cracked tiles, gaps or deterioration are internal problems that exterior tuckpointing cannot repair. A camera inspection helps establish the condition and extent of the defect.
Liner repair, liner installation and relining belong to one decision: what venting system is appropriate for the appliance and the existing chimney? The answer depends on fuel, appliance requirements, dimensions and installation conditions, rather than choosing a liner material from a photograph.
A written proposal should identify the inspection findings, liner system, sizing basis, access and any work needed around the fireplace connection. If you are adding an insert or changing fuel, provide the appliance make and model before requesting a final scope. Avoid using a system with suspected internal damage until a qualified professional evaluates it.

Chimney Liner Repair & Relining questions
Still unsure? Call (214) 000-0000 and ask a real person.
Can a cracked clay liner simply be patched?
The appropriate repair depends on the damage and whether an approved system can be installed for the appliance. An internal inspection is needed before deciding between a repair method and relining.
Do all fireplaces take the same stainless liner?
No. Diameter, configuration and system compatibility depend on the connected appliance and installation requirements. A liner should not be selected only by price or chimney height.
Is relining included in a chimney sweep?
No. Sweeping removes deposits; relining changes or repairs the venting system. Findings, price and installation scope should be explained separately.
What information helps with a liner quote?
Provide the appliance make, model and fuel, an existing inspection report if available and safe photos of the fireplace. Measurements and access still need confirmation before a final installation proposal.
Do I need an inspection after changing the appliance?
A change in appliance or fuel calls for evaluation of the chimney and venting requirements. Discuss the inspection level and any liner changes before installation or use.
